Hi,
If you do not tick the checkbox on the configuration page then this means that the address returned from PayPal will not be checked against the region selected by the customer which is what will have happened in this case. With Express Checkout, the customer does not enter their address on the checkout page, their address is sent to RomanCart from PayPal therefore you need to use this option if you want to make sure that the PayPal address matches the region the customer has selected on the region screen if you are using regional shipping or advanced tax. As per our previous post you could not use 'UK Mainland' with Express Checkout as PayPal does not return 'UK Mainland', you could use counties or have it just using countries. If you do not tick this option then you are relying on the customer selecting the correct region on the region page without this being validated. Many Thanks Support |

Support,
Can you please help me solve a mystery? A customer has somehow managed to enter England into the country field on his order RC6697004 but I can't see how he's managed to do it as RC should only allow him to select a country from the drop down list. I've tried to re-create this myself to no avail, can you advise how this customer managed to enter custom text into the country field? Thank in advance Regards Nick G. |

Hi,
As per the previous posts the address is returned by PayPal. It does not matter what is selected on the regions screen. You need to check the aforementioned checkbox, then the customer will be asked to correct their region if the PayPal region is not the same as what they have selected. Note that any custom regions you create must match what is returned by PayPal. PayPal does not return regions such as 'Uk Mainland' Many Thanks Support |

Hi,
Actually ignore the last post! The transaction is PayPal Pro. The only way this can have occurred is if at that time you had a custom region under the UK called 'England' Many Thanks Support |

Support,
I can confirm 100% that I've never configured a region with the name 'England', I can also confirm that have I not edited the order manually. I'll keep my eye on this issue and I'll notify you if it happens again. If it helps you diagnose how it happened, the despatch method this customer selected 'RM second class (free if order over £35)' has only been assigned to the following two UK regions: UK Mainland & Scottish Highlands. Dear Romancart team,
If I need to uncheck "Check the Country and County/State on the PayPal account against the location the customer has selected'" How can I use a Region based shipping with a region I setup myself? I am trying to use a "European region" but when my customers try to select a different country as a delivery address (let say France - which is in my European region), they get the message "The address of your PayPal account does not match the location you have selected below. Select your location using the link below so that it matches your PayPal details and try again Relying on the customers to select the right address is not ideal. Thanks |
