One thing occurred to me this morning, one positive note of having an online shop is you don't get people physically in your shop buying in PJs like Tescos do. Wonder how many sit online though and shop in their PJs!!

Jane,

I can confess to processing a few RC orders in my PJ's
each morning while waiting for my first pot of tea to brew!

With regard to "processing a few RC orders in my PJ's", does anybody use the SMS texting service for notification of sales? I did get tired of it after one batch of credits was used sending me texts about intermittent sales in the middle of the night. Would it be better if there was just one SMS per day indicating daily total sales? This would also be of more use when roaming abroad and away from PCs???

Secretly so can I, but usually only on a Sunday as I have a school run at 7.15 am to the bus stop so unlike those that take their kids to school in PJs I dress for it. Too blessed cold anyway

I don't as my sales are usually sent out same day and as I'm around most of the time in the week its not worth it for me.

I find it most annoying getting phoned by customers though at 11.30 pm at night because their paypal has failed or whatever. Don't they ever sleep, can't they ring in the morning. Was surprised as one customer who recently did this an hour after I'd gone to bed got a real earful about it. Thought she wouldn't carry on and order, but she did amazingly. Must have been water off a ducks back as they say.

So there, I can also say I handle sales calls in my nightclothes!! But I won't be in the most helpful frame of mind then.

AhhH - Midnight sales inquiries drive me mad!!

My business line often rings at unsociable hours despite displaying
the following message in bold red text beside our phone number on
the website: Office hours: 9.00AM - 4.30PM Monday to Friday

I used to answer the phone and give the midnight callers
a large helping of 'tongue pie' for supper but my out of hours
callers now get a recorded voice messsage which states our
office hours and refers them to the website for prices,
availability and 24 hour on-line shopping facilities.

I had one customer phone me at 2.10 AM and couldn't understand why I wouldn't take the order.

It seems they think if they can shop online 24 hours that we are sitting their waiting for their call 24/7.

If I answer these midnight callers via Skype in my PJ's with the vidio camera switched on they'll soon hang up!
