    Posted: 10 February 2018 at 1:17pm
I'm trying to set up a storefront and have a number of products that cross over between categories - ie: they need to be listed in more than one. How can I list one product in multiple categories? - eg: an Amethyst bracelet in a category called "Bracelets" and in a category called "Amethyst".

Thank you.

Hi,

With RomanCart one item appears in one category.

You should take a look at our other service at www.sellr.com which will give you a complete website - you can also have 'colletions' as well as categories where items can appear in multiple collections (as well as being in a category).

Many Thanks

Hi, thanks for replying. That's disappointing, I was hoping to be able to update my website, using the RomanCart storefront. I've been using RomanCart for years. It will be a shame to have move elsewhere.

Do you have any other suggestions on what I can do instead?

Hi,
Yes, simply copy the item(s), put them in the new category, then use the stocksource option to link the stock back to the original item.

Many Thanks

Hi,
Thank you. To do this, I would also have to give the item a new item code, wouldn't I?
Can this also done between Super Categories?

Many thanks,

Hi,
A product is in a category which is in a supercategory.
When you copy a product you can move it wherever you like. It needs a different itemcode but can have the same itemname.
Many Thanks

Hi,
Can I copy a product that is in a category of one supercategory, to a category within a different supercategory?

Thank you.

Hi,

Ah yes, thank you. I see that now! :)

When using the stocksource option to link the stock back to the original item, if someone purchases the item from another category, does the stock automatically come down on the original item, or do I have to do the stocksource link in that one as well?

Thank you.

Hi,
The stocksource is the itemcode of the product to deduct the stock from. The category does not matter.

Many Thanks
