Generic processor error: 10001

I use PayPal Pro and I've had a very high volume of failed transactions today with the follwing error message:

Generic processor error: 10001-Timeout processing request

Most of the affected customers have managed to re-submit their order after about five or six attempts, or by PayPal express

Has any other RC shop had similar problems?

I think I saw a post somewhere else about this on the forum. Think RC thought it was a paypal problem and paypal thought it was an RC problem so usual old chestnut of everyone blaming everyone else. You will need to search the posts, but I'm sure it was the same problem.

Hi,
We have received a notification from PayPal that they are working on this issue (which is a problem at their end) and hope to have a resolution in the next 48 hours.
It is not affecting all PayPal merchants.

Thanks for the update,
I've had about 20 more cases of this Generic processor error today, some customers have managed to complete their payment after about 3 or 4 attempts, others have opted to send a cheque instead or use the PayPal express checkout which is unaffected but some have given-up the struggle and presumably shopped elswhere
