With first class post I'm finding that 90% are getting though normally in a day or two. It's usually 99%. The items that are getting delayed are taking up to 10 days, which is really bad for business.
We are TRS (Top Rated Sellers) on eBay as well as having a website shop. We are about to loose this status due to RM and the weather. |

I can sympathise with you totally on that one. Although, not an E-bay seller most small businesses excel at good customer service, quick delivery etc and this just doesn't help us at all.

Hi All,
Who says it's not worth submitting claims to Royal Mail for late or missing items? I've just received a cheque from Royal Mail for £9.95 as compensation for the late delivery of an RMSD item which was delivered two days late. The cheque is for approx twice the value of the postage paid as it includes compensation so although it is a tad time consuming to complete the form it's worth submitting claims for all late or missing items. Regards Nick G. |

Me, for one... After spending time filling in the claim forms, waiting several weeks and then getting a letter asking for more information, which has to be available within a few days or the claim will be voided, and then getting a letter back saying there was insufficient evidence to base a claim. We could try the ombudsman, but that took even longer. After a while, you begin to realise that the time spent could be better utilised making money by photographing new stock, advertising, emailing customer etc rather than getting frustrated for no benefits. These were 1st class parcels, with proof of posting, sometimes signed for. I've never had to claim for a special delivery yet, perhaps that would be different. I think the whole Post Office system is great, it just needs to be one company instead of three and it needs the bureaucratic idiots dropping in something deep and sticky. Oh, and it shouldn't be owned by people seeking a profit, it should be service. I need to exercise more often, I'm finding it harder and harder to get down off this soap box these days |

Dave,
I can only report as I find it and I've submitted about 6 claims for late or missing items in the past 12 months and as far as I can recall I've received compensation in every case although I'll admit that in the case of missing items you do have to send copies of proof of posting, tracking reference and a copy of your suppliers invoice showing the price paid which is a pain. Best Regards Nick P.S. Dave get down from your soap box and stop being a grumpy old man! |
