Hi,

There are ongoing issues with BTinternet email addresses.

We get "421 Too many messages (1.5.6.3)" in our logs.

It is unclear as to whether this is to do with our recent upgrade as some merchants were reporting issues with BT email addresses before we migrated. If it is the upgrade, then it is BT saying that they won't accept lots of emails from our new ip addresses.

There is a lot of information on the Internet about this issue cropping up a lot with BT, for example when sending to BT from a gmail address.

Whilst we are seeing if there is anything we can do about it, if you have a btinternet email address and are not receiving confirmation emails then we would advise you either set up a free gmail account or similar, of perhaps use email forwarding with your domain host to have your email forwarded from their mail servers.

It is likely that if you are using btinternet that you probably will receive confirmation emails, however they are probably delayed - as our mail servers try sending emails for 4 hours after any rejection.

Many Thanks

Hi,

To send emails successfully to btinternet...
You need to make sure you have set up spf records on the dns for the domain name you are using to send the emails.

There is a useful wizard to assist you with this at http://www.spfwizard.net/

(This is a requirement of btinternet and nothing to do with ourselves).

Many Thanks
