We have been using RomanCart for our shopping cart functionality for a good part of a decade. We don't use RomanCart's built in product management, we built our own, but do use most of the other functions.

We have some products that force us to use a specific shipping carrier due to size or weight. We have been very creative over the years with this, performing much of the scripting on our webserver then passing the data to RomanCart. My question is whether there is a RomanCart code we can include when posting to the shopping cart that disallows a specific shipping option related to a specific product.

For example, product A is eligible for all available shipping options in the selected territory. In the same territory, Product B is not eligible for US Postal Service due to weight limitations with that carrier. When product B is added to the shopping cart, US Postal Service is removed from the shipping options list and can no longer be selected.

Does such a variable or code exist that we can post to the shopping cart to make this happen?

thanks, Chad

With weight based shipping only the shipping methods which have a weight band which covers the aggregate weight of the cart will be offered.

You can use that to allow/disallow shipping methods based on weight.

Many Thanks
