I'm setting up different delivery methods to a set of postcode ranges, but would like to restrict customers to only being able to order for delivery to those postcode ranges (ie restrict to only using those delivery methods). Ideally anyone attempting to order outwith those postcodes (ie methods) would be redirected to an explanatory page.
Is this possible with Roman Cart? Any ideas as to how to do it? |

Hi,
When you set up a shipping method, there's an option at the bottom of the shipping method page to restrict the method to specific post codes. I don't use this option so you'd need to try it to see how well it meets your needs. No way to redirect them to an explanation page. Hope this helps, |

Yeah, I've already set up different delivery methods restricted to a set of postcode ranges - but this doesn't seem to prevent folks from ordering outwith those ranges - it's just that they get charged zero delivery, since no delivery method applies to their postcode. Any ideas, anyone?

Hi,
You need to set up regional shipping, and add your own regions which are postcode based. Then, the customer will only be able to buy if they select one of those postcode regions. It's how we enable the customer selecting which countries can purchase from us, and how much they get charged for their shipping. However, it does rely on the customer selecting the correct postcode shipping method, otherwise you still have to chase them and cancel their order or whatever you do. At least it makes it obvious which post codes are allowed, but someone may still try to order if thay happen to be in an adjacent postcode and think they might be able to get away with it. This could be a problem as the Postcode they enter in the cart won't be checked against your shipping method. Hope this helps, |
