Hi,
If it works on the demo store with no problem though then the answer is in whatever the difference is between the demo cart and your cart.
Failing that, I can only suggest that your browser is broken in some way. Maybe other software on your computer has affected it etc. Maybe see if reinstalling the browser makes a difference?

Ah yes, I see what you are saying about the demo cart VS our cart.

It's strange as it seems to be fine on the odd occasion, for now i think we will have to make do with changing the encoding ourselves.

Would it not be advantageous for romancart to declare encoding in the headers at all?

You can switch on utf-8 at 'tools'/'options'/'general'
