The manager for bookings is a neat idea for sure based on accommodation. I do not have a hotel but I do have a need for something ever so slightly different based upon the background technology already in place!!... That of a Courier Collections Manager...

I was playing with the accommodation booking manager trying to tweak it for my personal usage but failed at the last hurdle, the default invoices that are produced off the back of a booking that I am unable to change!!.... Everything else worked fine!!

Say I want for customers to be able to book a courier collection (Service of a nebuliser in my case) – At present we take the phone call, we contact TNT and we arrange for anywhere in the UK collection on their chosen day or if local in the catchment area of our business, we add this to the local drivers round!

Based upon your screen cast....

I set the category to – ‘UK MAINLAND COURIER COLLECTION’

I set the room types, instead of room 1, room 2 & room 3 etc to slot 1, slot 2 & slot 3... I put 10 slots per given day and made them available.

Chose the weekdays we collect be it local or mainland UK... Monday to Friday.

Instead of the ‘Cot’ I classed that as ‘How many units to be collected?’ with the drop down 1-10 each item per booking being a set extra surcharge as laid out by my courier.

All was great and integrated fine until the confirmation and invoice came up!... 

Accommodation Details

Accommodation: Slot 1

Tariff: Flat Rate Courier Collection UK Mainland

Date of Arrival: 10-Sep-2010

Length of Stay: 1 Night

Payment: Full

Just a suggestion as I reckon there are more of us out there using ‘Roman Cart’ that would like this feature and would use it in some shape or form how I have described, opposed to those of us that own hotels?!

Dual functionality would be good using 95% of what is already there!

Or...

Given you already use a shipping agent integrated into the cart, why not negotiate them to collect too and thus achieve the same thing!? (Slightly more complicated I wager - Always is with a 3rd party involved!)

You thoughts and feedback would be greatly appreciated.

	Additional... If the option for bookings was made for courier... Then only a seperate template for the confirmation and invoice need be produced and you have a neat dual function... Sorry if I make it sound easy but it opens up a lot of avenues from something that is functioning in the background for accommodation! I can set the admin staff access with personal login to view only the monthly view and see which slots are to be set up for what collection/delivery! I don't know about anybody else but please voice your support if you think this is a good idea and maybe 'Roman Cart might embody the changes or make something that encompasses what I am trying to achieve!?
