I've asked for this several times in the past and its been ignored. I'd love to have the option of addtional custom methods, but I'll bet its still not on the cards

I think it's a shame that Support have stopped progressing the cart further; there's numerous enhancements that could be developed. Perhaps they feel they've gone as far as they want to with the cart, and are involved in other projects.

It would ber nice for support to let us all know what they are working on, they must be developing something at the moment as we have not been getting any response to questions posted on the forum or by direct emailfor quite a time now.

Hi,
Sorry for the lack of information on new developments, however communication with merchants using RomanCart is top of our list of things we are working on. 1. An enhanced email system, where you can pick a predefined email template and modify it with your own text. - This makes it really easy to send emails without having to design them yourself. 2. RomanCart Payments. This is a payment gateway, completely integrated into RomanCart and PCI compliant. You can refund, charge and manage the actual payments directly from the Sales Manager. 3. A system for tracking Internet Advertising, so that when you place an ad on a different website you can track the ROI from that ad. 4. Pre-defined cart templates - so that rather than having to customize your own cart pages you can select from a number of good looking predefined templates. (Of course you would still be able to customize in the same way you can now if you wished). RomanCart is a growing company and we have just moved to a new office in Bath,UK. Finally - we have set up live chat on the RomanCart website - currently using LivePerson. This has made a huge difference on the communication we are able to give to people browsing our website. (If you are a merchant reading this then this is something you should consider doing yourselves as well). Many Thanks Support |

Hi Support,
Apart from number 2 (and I'm not even sure about that), have any of these actually been asked for by merchants in the last couple of years? What's happening to the many requests for enhancements which we've been asking for through the suggestion forum for years with no success, e.g the ability to import more than 50 products at once to make updating and using the product manager practical for stock control and price control. There are many more examples. Sadly, that's why many of the forum regulars no longer post and many are now using other carts. ![]() As regards better communicating with merchants, I obviously missed the communication which told us about this new system. Perhaps that's the reason so few posts seem to get answers on the forums these days. |

Hi,
1. The improved email system is so that we can easily communicate with users of the RomanCart system. (Merchants using email functionality will also be able to use this). 2. RomanCart Payments is required because of the PCI regulations. 3. Tracking Internet ads is required as we need to use it ourselves. 4. Pre-defined cart templates enhances the whole RomanCart system. These are all enhancements which are long overdue and need to be done before we can look at other aspects of the cart. Once these are completed then we will again look at how existing features can be improved. The 50 product limit however is not an easy enhancement because of the technological requirements. i.e. many more servers, and a much higher price. Once the email system is completed then we will be regularly emailing RomanCart merchants, so you will be much more aware of what we are up to/improvements to the cart and lots of other information and opportunities. Many Thanks Support |

Some of the things we have been asking for should be quicker and easier jobs to do than the complicated new things that you have been working on, Please Support can you sort a few of the existing problems users have with the system.

Support,
I agree that the second point in your list is very important as you have to be PCI compliant. The other three, however, are more for convenience and preference, whereas most of the requests us merchants put forward are out of sheer necessity. I really do think you should prioritize and put our (your paying customers) needs first. You can see by the comments within the forum that there is a mood of disgruntlement amongst the membership as our requests go disregarded; indeed the only additions since last year are the Sales Manager icons and the iPhone app, none of which were even asked for. Please, Support, devise a firm policy regarding the consideration and development of suggestions and requests from us merchants, we ask of them because we need them. Thank you. |
