Hi,
Because of forum spam bots we have had to change the system so that if an itemname posted to the cart contains a url, it will be dropped. If you are using the product manager then this will not affect you (assuming you are using the itemcode, not the itemname and price parameters). Forum spam bots are systems which automatically try and post spam text to online forums. To clarify - an itemname of 'Red Bag' is fine. An item name of 'Red Bag see http://www.anyurl.com/redbag/redbag.htm' will not be accepted. We have tracked this for a few weeks an do not believe that any merchants are affected by this change. If you believe you are affected then please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to discuss the changes you will need to make. Many Thanks Support |

Hi,
This only affects any button or link to the cart which has a url in the itemname in the code on the web page being posted to the cart. Many Thanks Support |

Hi Support
sorry we do not follow why the changes have been made you say because of Forum spam bots, so why does the Cart System need changes if it is the forum? do these changes have anything to do with the continue shopping button problem we have just had? Red |

Hi,
Every online system like RomanCart is under constant attack from all sorts of automated systems on the internet. One type of unwanted attention is from forum bots which constantly plough the internet looking for forums to post to. These take up bandwidth and need to be blocked. This latest change is just one of many ways in which we do this. This is nothing to do with the 'continue shopping' button, or the RomanCart forum. Many Thanks Support |
