We have been using RomanCart since 2010 as our website shopping cart/Checkout. We use a custom website and product management system. More simply stated, we only use RomanCart to transact purchases and manage our orders. We post our product/shipping data from our webstore to RomanCart.
I have 5 office staff that are constantly inputting orders in for customers that we receive by telephone. Starting summer 2020, my office staff started noticing that RomanCart was sharing the shopping cart contents across their individual computers. To explain further, employee #1 would start entering an order, then if employee #2 started entering an order (on a completely independent computer), before #1 finished, their RomanCart shopping carts would combine the contents. We thought maybe it was a Chrome issue, so we had different staff use different browsers. Some using Chrome and some staff using IE. The problem does not occur across browsers, but it does happen within both Chrome and IE when multiple staff are using either browser. We all share the same wireless internet connection, but all computers/devices are independent of each other. Each user has their own login to both the computer and browser accounts. It has been very strange. Internally, we did not make any substantial changes to our backend system or RomanCart account. This issue makes using RomanCart within our office environment difficult. Is there any reason/solution someone can think of related to this issue? |

Hi,
That would indicate that cookies are not working for you and it is falling back on using your ip address and other identifiers. Is it definitely going to the https://www.romancart.com domain when you add to the cart? (i.e. you are not showing the cart in an iframe or some other way)? Many Thanks Support |

Hi,
Further to last post - It's probably best if you email us full details of how you are using the cart so we can work out the solution. Note that it is not your website, or RomanCart that has changed - this is the browsers themselves changing. Specifically they are changing to treat anything with cookies inside an iframe as an advert or tracker. There are ways around it though. Many Thanks Support |

Thank you for the responses. I will try to be as specific as possible regarding how we are using Romancart.
Our storefront is independent of RomanCart. We don't use the product manager or templates provided by Romancart. Our storefront interacts with Romancart in two ways. First, when products are added to the cart. Second, to show the current cart money total on our site when the customer returns. We connect the user to www.romancart.com directly via the post method of adding products to the cart per your examples of "how to post". We have been doing this for years and have not changed this. We do not use the Romancart application in an iframe. We send the customer directly to the romancart website. Our storefront can be seen at www.customtiedowns.com for reference. Our preferred browser is Chrome, but we are experiencing the same effect in all browsers tested (Chrome, IE, Firefox). We never have this problem across different browsers, but always when multiple users are using the same browser type. Let me know if I can provide any additional information. |

Hi,
Thanks for the info. If you go to your website and add something to the basket. On one of your other computers if you click on the button to view the cart you can see the item added from the other computer. Is that right? Please give that simple test a go and let us know. Many Thanks Support |

Yes, you are understanding correctly.
If one user adds an item to the cart, anyone in my office using that same browser can now see the same cart contents that the original user added. It isn't just two users, literally, anyone using that same browser, now sees the same cart contents. It acts as if all the users are sharing a single cart (as long as they are using the same browser software). My staff is using the default security settings for the browsers. We have not modified anything such as blocking cookies, java or anything else that would be considered a standard setting. |

Hi,
'tools'/'options'/'general' In the 'Cart persistence' section. Tick 'use only cookies' Click on 'save changes' at the bottom. Please let us know if this resolves the issue. Many Thanks Support |
