We sold some items yesterday and received the mandatory RC shop sale notification. The invoice stated that payment had been made by Paypal express.
Great I thought i can get it dispatched , WRONG !!

The payment notification never arrived from paypal, but instead we got an ECheque notification a while later.

BE WARNED : The RC Invoice may say Paypal, but it could be an uncleared eCheque.

Hi,

You need to send the order number to Support to look at; uncleared echeques have never generated a RC sale notification for us, just an uncompleted order; this sounds like either a bug or something's gone wrong... We only use Paypal standard, not Express.

We used to have a lot of problems with E-Cheques as it is the default payment method if the card has expired or failed. Customers were not aware that payment was being taken from their bank and were surprised that this would delay their order. As you cannot cancel an E-cheque it created more confusion / delay to the order as we had to take card payment and then refund the card when the e-cheque cleared. Anyway, there is an option somewhere within Paypal to prevent payment by E-cheque which we have used to prevent the big problems this gave us.

We also stopped e-cheque payments on Paypal, most customers did not realise it was a echeque oayment.
