I am new to Roman Cart and I am a little unsure of which merchant check out to use? Can anybody recommend one that both offers the customer confidence, whilst bringing vale to my business? Many thanks |

Difficult as personal choice really and what suits your budget.
Paypal is popular with a lot of people. However, different payment providers charge different rates ie for example Nochex its just £50.00 set up fee and that's it and then they take a percentage of each transaction. If I were to set up an HSBC payment system as that's who I bank with they want to charge me £200.00 for the priveledge of setting up a merchant account and then I think if I remember rightly a further £100.00 to set up payment gateway and then on top they would take a percentage of each transaction. I couldn't afford to set it up with them. I think all the options Romancart give to work with are all well known valid payment gateways, but its down to your budget etc as to what you use and also what suits one business might not suit another. As I said above Paypal is a very popular option and is relatively easy and cheap to set up if you are starting out. |

If you're just starting out then have a look at NOCHEX. It can be customised to look similar to your site but does not come with the larger costs of a payment gateway.

Hi,
Another consideration with regard to charges is the cost of making refunds, some payment providers make a charge for processing refunds. I use PayPal and its very simple to make a part or full refund up to 60 days after the original transaction, it costs nothing to do a refund and you also get the original commission charge refunded in full. Another benefit of using PayPal is that you can offer your customer a wider choice of payment methods as they'll have the option of paying by credit and debit cards or via their PayPal account without even having to enter their name & address etc. (as this information is forwarded to RomanCart from the customers PayPal account) I hope this is of help Regards Nick G. |
