Have I missed something? I didn't know modifiers were going to be discontinued or have I misread this? I only use them for a couple of items, but they work well for what I want.

AS far as I can tell Modifiers with stock control are no longer available to new Roman Cart Customers but existing customers can use them. Nothing has been said yet about the position on Modifiers that do not use stock control which is what we use.
I am trying to get a proper answer to this from support, I have just received the following via email - Firstly Product Groups replaces stock controlled modifiers. Your test product is not a stock controlled modifier so it’s not relevant to this. As per forum post, stock controlled modifiers are switched off on new carts. We have no current plans to switch them off on existing carts. Even if we do – I did a quick check and you don’t seem to have any anyway. Our concerns were raised by the reply from Oliver which stated the following - The issue has been looked into yes. Unfortunately this is not something that will be resolved to soon. The RomanCart product manager has been trying to move away from Modifiers in favour of Product Groups. As a long time forum member and RomanCart customer you may remember there were lots of issues with modifier products. Especially the lack of import and export. Unfortunately we were never successfully able to get round these issues. So we moved to replace Modifiers with Product Groups. Which solved all the issues there were with modifiers. Please give the product groups video a watch here. It has replaced the previous modifiers video: http://www.romancart.com/sell-more/topbuttons/watch_screencast.asp?source=list&topic=productgroups Support can you also please confirm you have no intentions or removing the modifier system that does not use stock control? Is this available to new Roman Cart customers or just to existing ones? Red |

Hi,
Sorry for confusion - We will NOT be switching off non-stock controlled modifiers - this is really important useful functionality. I can't see a reason why we would ever switch this off as it is major cart functionality. We have NO PLANS to switch off stock controlled modifiers on existing carts. However it's better to use product groups for this. The problem with stock controlled modifiers is that they create lots of pseudo 'combination products' which you cannot do much with. It's much better to use product groups where each 'combination product' is a real product with all the properties of any other product. Many Thanks Support |

Thank you Support for making it clear, that is good news as our modifiers took a lot of time and work.
so all we now need is a solution to the scrambled codes, thank you support for looking into this problem. Red |
