Hi Romancart,

we're having an issue with confirmation emails not reaching gmail addresses. Hopefully you can help.

I saw the note about SPF:

As RomanCart is sending emails on your behalf you will need to add the following mail servers to your SPF DNS record. Please refer to your dns provider if you are unsure about how to do this.
mail1.email9876.com
mail2.email9876.com

I've been in touch with our provider (20i) and updated the DNS, but it doesn't seem to have resolved the issue. DNS was updated yesterday, a test confirmation email was sent this morning to both gmail and non-gmail addresses, but only came through to the non-gmail address.

In the properties of the confirmation email we did receive was this fragment:

Received: from mx2.lhr.stackcp.net ([10.4.13.5])
     (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits))
     by mailauth3.lhr.stackcp.net with LMTPS
     id CMIcFGZQJmVKZQAAjoPCJg
     (envelope-from <service@romancart.com>)
     for <...myemailhere...>; Wed, 11 Oct 2023 08:36:06 +0100
Authentication-Results: mx2.lhr.stackcp.net;
     iprev=pass (mail1.email9876.com) smtp.remote-ip=92.48.104.202;
     spf=none smtp.mailfrom=romancart.com;
     dmarc=skipped
Received-SPF: none (mx2.lhr.stackcp.net: domain of romancart.com does not provide an SPF record) client-ip=92.48.104.202; envelope-from=service@romancart.com; helo=mail1.email9876.com;

Our provider thought that this indicated that romancart.com was missing an SPF but I'm quite confused now. Can you help?

with thanks, Jem Cook

Hi Jem,

My first instinct is that they may have added the RC Mail Servers with an 'include:' statement rather than an 'a:' statement, which will not work.

If you could send your website domain as well, we will be able to take a closer look. There are a few other details to check, so you may also need to send us your StoreID & Support Tag, at which point I would recommend opening a Support Ticket by sending an email to support@romancart.com

I hope this helps!

Hi Jake,

yes, they did indeed add them as include statements rather than a: statements. I'll get that updated and see how we get on. Hopefully it'll resolve the issue and if not I'll open a support ticket!

with thanks, Jem
