Hi All,
I use PayPal Website Payments Pro (Payflow Edition) and for some reason all my international transactions are failing to pass the address or Zipcode validation checks My overseas orders give the following un-checked result: AVSADDR X AVSZIP X IAVS N or AVSADDR N AVSZIP N IAVS N Consequently I have to have to set the 'Risk Controls' in my PayPal settings to accept 'No Match' in order to receive international orders. Should it be necessary to disable the address/Zipcode validation system in order to accept international card payments? Are any other forum members experiencing a similar problem? Thanks in advance Best Regards, Nick G. |

Hi Nick,
Is this a new thing? We've been using Protx / SagePay for nearly 6 years and we've probably only had a handful of foreign orders which do pass the Address / Postcode / CV2 checks. Usually, they come up as not checked, rarely they come up as failed. The fails, and equally rare successes, I assume to be UK issued cards for foreign residents. I believe this is because is normal, UK banks cannot check these details for foreign issued cards. I did ask Protx and HSBC back when we started and this seemed to be expected at the time, I've never had a reason to assume anything has changed. |

Hi Dave,
No this is not a new issue, I don't ever recall an international card payment that has passed the validation checks. I just wanted to makes sure it was normal to have to disable the address/Zipcode validation system within the PayPal configuration setup in order to accept non UK card payments via an international payment gateway such as PayPal It seems daft to have to disable an important security function! Best Regards Nick G. |
