Hi Red,
I can see your point; you'd like to see it incorporated within the 'offers' facility, whereas I was offering a workaround. We'll have to see if Support will implement this, but in the meantime the code above should tide you over, it does what you want it to do in essence. |

Hi Graham.
My point to Support re the Offers Function is that it should not just put an extra item directly onto the customers basket without them first selecting to do so, this looks like they are being forced into buying an extra product that they did not select and which they may not want (even if it is at a reduced price) and I am sure would make a lot of customers just abandon the cart. The Offers function is one of the upgrade selling points for the top level of cart so should in my view be usable. The reason for wanting to use the function is that you can set up a time span for the offer, the set up is quick and you can link product codes to each other for the offers without having to do a lot of work on codes. It also has an edit and delete button for the offer so would be much quicker to use and a lot less fuss if it was not for the fact that it does not give the customer the choice first. Red |

I agree, it looks like we are forcing the customer to take the offer. It would be better organised if it could be made an optional add to basket when you are purchasing the item.
Like what Graham as done, but would be great if it could be done with least hassle. |

Red,
I know I've already answered you in another category, I'm just posting here for the benefit of other members. This can already be done by using the 'accessories' code, For Example: <form action=http://www.romancart.com/cart.asp method=post> <input type=hidden name=itemname value='Dog Lead'> <input type=hidden name=dependentmaster value=yes> <input type=hidden name=price value=9.99> <input type=hidden name=storeid value=10000> <input type=hidden name=quantity value=1> Dog Lead £9.99<br><br> <input type=hidden name=X1itemname value='Collar (Half Price)'> <input type=hidden name=X1price value=2.50> <input type=hidden name=X1storeid value=10000> <input type=hidden name=X1quantity value=1> Special Offer!<br> Add the collar for half normal price! (£2.50)<input type=checkbox name=X1include><br><br> <input type=submit value='Add to Basket'> </form> Edited by Amber - 21 June 2011 at 6:52pm |

Support - Re Offers Function, we do not feel this is set up correctly. The Offers function could do with a tick box or something that allows the customer the choice of adding the offer to their basket. As it is at the moment the Offer is just added to the customers basket without them knowing. An offer in our view is something that the customer should be able to choose to accept or decline not just be added to their purchase selections and expect them to pay for without them having selected it in the first place.
