Hi,
The only api request we make is to double check the outcome of the transaction.
As you suggest in an earlier post it might be that this is failing which is why you are getting 'result not yet ready' status'. These would be from IPN.

With this in mind, please go to the RomanCart config screen for Hosted Pro and go through the API settings on your PayPal account again. It may be that the API no longer has the permissions required in those instructions.
Please post or email your findings.

Many Thanks

Hi,

I've had a look at my PayPal integration settings and it shows two alternative procedures depending on whether I have a 'PayPal PayFlow Account' or not.

Do you know how I can find out which type of PayPal account I have?

Please advise

Hi,
Have you completed the 4 fields which identify your PayFlow account on RomanCart? If not then it's not a PayFlow account.
Many Thanks

Hi,

Yes I've entered my details in the four fields so it would appear I have a PayFlow account.

User :
Merchant Login :

I've checked my integration settings but I can't see any errors.

I've sent a screenshot to PayPal support showing the 'result not yet ready' status errors and they have replied as follows:
Quote Hi Nick

The screenshot showing is from RomanCart means it is from RomanCart error.
In our PayPal site, there is nothing stating that an error occur.
RomanCart should be checking on the integration with PayPal correctly.

You can pass this link to RomanCart for integration guide for PayFlow https://developer.paypal.com/docs/classic/payflow/integration-guide/

Sincerely,
Merchant Technical Support

Could you please investigate?

Thanks in anticipation

Hi,
In your earlier post it said

'I see a pattern in your PayPal daily report where you are sending an API inquiry request without any value.'

The only API request we make is to get the transaction result, which in your case - if it is set correctly is being returned as 'result not yet ready'

This is not an error, it means that PayPal have not decided whether they will accept the transaction.

As per earlier post, we are looking into getting the return page to keep polling PayPal for a while until a valid decision has been made.

Many Thanks

Would it not make sense for RomanCart to speak directly to PayPal technical support to investigate this issue?

Hi,

Please ignore our previous post!
The system already does this.
If the result is 'result not ready' then the page will show 'please wait....processing' until the correct result is obtained.

Please can you find a transaction where you have had a problem and click on the payment status.

I suspect that it will show 'result not ready', then 'completed', then 'result not ready' again (which should not happen).

Please confirm that this is the issue you are reporting.

I'm not sure that PayPal would be able to help with this as it seems to be working correctly apart from in some cases getting an extra 'result not ready' status.

Many Thanks

I can confirm that I often see 'result not ready', then 'completed', then 'result not ready' again in the payment status.

The other issue which I suspect may be related is the high volume of
'Result 7', 'Field format error' response messages on my PayPal Daily Activity Transaction Reports, I get over 100 of these per day, what is likely to be causing these messages?

Hi,

Result 7 means 'Result not Ready'
I'm not sure where it's getting a field format error from.
Can you post or email details of a transaction where you have seen this and we will ask PayPal.

The strange thing is that the ones I looked at had 'result not ready' and 'Completed' at exactly the same time.

Thanks

Regretfully I've no way of knowing which RC orders the field format errors relate to, the PayPal Daily Activity Transaction Reports just show the date & time but this may help, here's this mornings errors so far:
