I am aiming to have a Google site with a pretty substantial product list (250 products) either embedded in the site (or stored as a link to in Google Documents) as a pdf or possibly an Issuu publication (www.issuu.com)
Can I insert Roman Cart Shopping trolley code / links into pdf and get the same result?
The reason I want to do it this way is that this way I can refresh product updates and changes very quickly via the master spreadsheet which I control. Which I could not do if I had products entered straight on to Google sites pages. I have decided not to go down the MS Publisher route as I think the file would be way to big to be practical.
So, understanding where I am coming from, has anyone got a solution!

Hi,
I don't know the formats you're talking about (Google documents, Issuu). To get Romancart to work, you need to be able to insert HTML code into what ever you use to create your website.
The best way to do that is to actually create a proper website (not MS Publisher...) and then it becomes really easy to integrate Romancart.
250 products isn't that substantial; Romancart can provide stock control through the Product Manager which would make it pretty easy to control what's available and what isn't, although you would need to manually amend the web pages to add and remove products.
Hope this helps,

Thanks Dave, sorry to have been a bit unclear.
I see now that the Product Manager is a pretty powerful tool and looks like being up to the central data control I was after....
I have another question, though , re Remote Data; I don't quite get it. Isn't the product manager essentially a live data base for the site? And each time I update the data in that, the site is updated? Why then would I need the extra function of the Remote Data coding?
One thought that occurs to me is that the Product Manager allows you to set up and test live (I remember 100 tests for free being mentioned), and after that live data updates becomes a paid for (Gold) service - ie Remote Data. Is that about right, do you know?

Hi Matt,
The product manager holds your product information and also provides you with the html code snippets needed for you to add the products to your site. Optionally, it can also hold stock level information, shipping info and a host of other bits of info. You can use the stock control functions to keep track of your stock levels and stop customers buying items which are out of stock.
If you add new products or change the stock levels or prices in the product manager, the actual website is not automatically updated. If you use the additional functionality of Remote Data Delivery, you can display stock levels and prices on your website, or availability messages if appropriate. You cannot automatically display and update stock information from the product manager without using Remote Data Delivery.
You can have 10 products in the PM with the free cart, but you need gold for RDD, which allows you to have 2000 products in the PM.
Hope this clarifies,
