I am just starting to add products to the product manager for stock control. I sell things individually and then in different combinations.

I sell childrens party bags. I offer a filled selection of items, but also offer the individual single items separately so they can buy each item.

At the moment I hand code each group of items with modifying options, i.e. choice of bag etc so the invoice shows which items are included in a party bag - which is important if it is being sent filled.

As there is a lot of duplication I am not sure how to achieve this. I did think I could use the product manager for just the individual items, but unfortunately the stock control system will not work because I have not chosen "sell only items in the product manager" so when the items are purchased the stock doesn't change.

Any suggestions?

Hi,
If you want to use stock control then add your products to the product manager and then click on the 'configure' link there to set your stock control options.

See http://www.romancart.com/sell-more/tabs/how_it_works_examples.html#j for an example of how you could do the bag with the options of what to put inside them.

The example is for non product manager products, you would need to modify it for product manager products by removing the shipping and itemname and price fields and replacing them with the itemcode field. Keep the include and storeid fields.

Many Thanks
