    Posted: 08 December 2011 at 9:55am
Hi,

With the ongoing SmartStamp problems forcing RC users to seek alternative despatch solutions such as a franking machine, could RomanCart add a facility to print daily Royal Mail approved 'Proof-of Posting' sheets which automatically log the customers name, RM service type and tracking number etc.?

These postal despatch log sheets would be printed at the end of each day and taken to the Post Office with the mail sacks to be date-stamped by the PO as 'proof of posting' and save hours of manual work. (in a similar way as could be done using the troubled SmartStamp desktop application)

Thanks in advance

Regards

Hi,
I'm not familiar with this, do you have an example you can email to us?

Many thanks

Hi Support,

Ideally the layout should be similar to the Royal Mail certificate of Posting sheet that is currently printed from the SmartStamp desktop application but with the following amendments:

1/ Replace the unnecessary heading 'Enhanced compensation value', reduce the column size and re-name it as 'Tracking Ref', RomanCart would need the enter the tracking number into this field automatically from the despatch details as entered on RC Sales Manager

2/ Replace the unnecessary heading 'Contents Value', increase the column width to 55mm and re-name it as 'Barcode label'
The RM self-adhesive barcode labels (which measure approx. 55mm x 12mm) would be attached here for each item

Click the following link to see an example of the current 'Certificate of Posting' sheet:

Hi,

I've given this Royal Mail Certificate of Posting sheet feature some more thought and produced a rough sample of the form that would be printed from RomanCart at the end of each day and taken with the parcels to the Post Office to be stamped by the cashier/postmaster as a 'proof of posting' receipt.

http://www.amourelle.co.uk/RM_certificate_of_posting_sample.pdf

Overview of the requirements:

1/ Where the Sales Manager - ‘Despatches’ - 'Despatch Type’ field contains the phrase ‘Royal Mail’ the Customers Name & Address would be automatically logged on the Royal Mail Certificate of Posting sheet and the 'Despatch Type’ would be entered in the 'Product' field
on the form.

2/ If a ‘Tracking Code’ has been entered this should be copied the the 'Tracking Number' field on the RM form and the phrase 'Attach self-adhesive bar code tracking label here' will appear in the Barcode Label box.

3/ Merchants would print the Royal Mail Certificate of Posting sheet at the end of each day and be able to clear the log ready for the next days orders.

4/ The Merchants 'Company Name' & 'Address' and the current date would appear at the top of the form.

I hope you will be able to introduce this feature quickly as I'm really struggling now that I'm using a Franking machine instead of SmartStamp. (which used to automatically enter each item onto the Certificate of Posting sheet in a similar fashion)

P.S. Any other RC users that would find this feature useful please add your support to this post so that the RC team can get an idea of how many traders would find it useful.

Thanks in advance

This is a great idea.
How do I get it implemented?

Support,

Is it likely that you'll be able to introduce a facility to enable us to print the daily Royal Mail Certificate of Posting sheets from RomanCart?

Thanks in anticipation

Can you please advise whether you'll be able to introduce this Royal Mail Certificate of Posting sheet printing feature.

Hi,
We are currently about to release a whole new bunch of features around invoicing and sale types. Once we have completed this then we can look into additional features such as this.
Many Thanks
