Hi,
As you may know there is a new EU wide law concerning cookie collection. For the vast majority of RomanCart users this does not affect RomanCart. RomanCart Standard cookies are all essential for the shopping cart to work and as such do not need permission from the visitor. (For clarification of exemptions, see Please see the ICO website at http://www.ico.gov.uk/for_organisations/privacy_and_electronic_communications/the_guide/cookies.aspx In the doc see the table with the column header:'Activities likely to fall within the exception' It says : 'A cookie used to remember the goods a user wishes to buy when they proceed to the checkout or add goods to their shopping basket' Standard RomanCart Cookies: "RomanCart" - Used when the customer clicks on the 'remember my details for next time' option on the checkout. If you really wanted you could add 'Uses Cookie' to the message but we don't think it is neccessary at this time. "RMNCTCKC" - used to tell if cookies are enabled (Does not hold user identifiable information) "CTAB" - used to tell if a cart has been abandoned. Advanced Marketing Features If you are using some advanced marketing features in RomanCart - such as tracking search engine keywords which lead to sales, then you may be using the 'ROCIntel' cookie. You may need to get permission from the visitor to set this cookie in the same was as you would for Google Analytics. Many Thanks Support |
