Totally agree.

Actually I think the German postal service seem quite good as its the only international service apart from the US where I've had an item returned as undeliverable despite all parcels having a return address.

Was amazed that they sent it back.

Hi,

Packet Post Link

We also have a business account with them, which means the collection service includes 1st, 2nd, recorded, special and airmail although not all are on the Packet Post prices.

Just looked at Packetpost and don't think we are eligible. Says minimum number of items per posting is 250 and we wouldn't meet that.

Hi Rainshoe,

5000 items per annum for packet post and more £15,000 postage charges or you have to pay for the collection service (£750 If I remember correctly?).

Not sure where you got the 250 items per posting from, I can't find that?

It was somewhere in the PDF I looked at. Anyway, I'll land up paying £750.00 for the collection and would need it at the end of the day. Will have to investigate other avenues I think.

By the way, who was it that left Smartstamp since the screw up, which is still a little of a mish mash, and went to a franking machine.

How do you find it? Is it cost effective or not?

Is maybe franking the way to go now...

Does it mean if I go the franking route the idiot in our local PO will stop insisting on weighing all my parcels and checking the labels. No other PO in the area does that, they just shove Smartstamp in the bag. Hence 5 minutes or less in any other PO and 1/2 hour in our own local one while the idiot faffs about.

We paid the £750 1st year, but we saved more than £750 by switching to packet post so that funded the collection service payment plus we didn't have to keep going to our local post office with parcels and to pay bills; we still ended the year better off, and we had more free time to do other things.

£10 / hour, £750 = 75 hours = 1.5 hours per week in post office queues. What's your time worth?

Picked up New Royal Mail from 30th April 2012 price guide last night from local post office - had just arrived - so this weekend will be spent on adding new postal prices to our websites.

Same here. Got loads of other things I need to do, but this will have to be done quick to cover costs for Monday's postings. I'm doing ours from Saturday afternoon.
