The new Smartstamp system seems to have gone backwards; as Jackslad said, you have to log in to RM now and then onto your Smartstamp account. Also, the refund facility seems to have disappeared.
Not impressed.

Correction, sorry, was looking at Prepaid instead of Smartstamp.
It's still a pain though, not having a direct link to the correct page. |

Hi All,
I can no longer view my SmartStamp® account transaction history. When I log into my SmartStamp® account and click on 'View order history' it states 'No Orders Found' Anyone else having this problem? I think its about time some of us business SmartStamp® users started a campaign to get the same discounted postage rates for using the SmartStamp® on-line postal franking system as Royal Mail offer to users of conventional franking machines. Anyone up for writing a protest script for us all to send to Royal Mail on mass? Regards Nick G. (SmartStamp® user/sufferer since 2004) |

You can view your history after logging in using your customer data at www.royalmail.com here: https://www.royalmail.com/prepay/account/history
However looking at my "history" is goes back as far as yesterday! BTW I doubt if RM would waive the Smartstamp fee or offer the same rates as available to users of franking machines as they really want to migrate users to using franking machines. My investigation of using franking machines indicates that they do offer cheaper postage rates - but when you factor in the built-in overheads when using franking machines the savings rapidly evaporate. Also the few official suppliers of the franking machines have a poor service reputation. RM have recently been given the green light to increase postage costs! Happy New Year! |

Hi Colin,
Many thanks, With your help I've now found my account history but as you mentioned, it only shows the recent history I've looked into the franking machine options but regretfully they appear to involve a lot more work what with having to attach separate address & franking labels to each package, the inability to print a daily journal log report which includes address & postage details of each item and hefty franking machine operating costs which involve replacement ink tanks at rip-off prices (in the reqion of £100 - £200 each) I think I'll have to continue using SmartStamp® because you've got to admit, when the SmartStamp® system works it does so very well! Regards Nick G. |

I'm not happy as now can only top up with £100.00 at time. I can spend that in one day on postage, especially in the summer months. Looks like when my contract ends its back to the PO becuase I'll waste a lot of time topping up.

Everything RM does now is does for one reason......privatisation!
If SmartStamp does not bring in the profit they will change it so you move to OBA. My daily pick up cost £230 p/y 4 years ago...now it's £650+VAT! Ouch!! They have to make it all look good on the books for the foreign company that'll buy them! Nobby |

Being cynical your probably right
I won't be moving to OBA as refuse to pay £650+VAT for the priviledge. I will go back to taking them to the PO which I hate also. |

What would be good would be if Support could strike a deal with Royal Mail so that we could manage our postage through the Sales Manager, just like they have with UPS couriers. Can't see Royal Mail going for it though; wishful thinking on my half.
