Yes you make a very good point and I would urge those reading theses posts to take into account as you suggest their customer profile - age group – products they sell etc along with everything else before making decisions. Nick I agree a determined fraudster will do just as you mention and this is perhaps why at the moment anyway PayPal and 3DS is not mandatory. As with many threads on the RC form I will be keeping an eye on others experiences and re-evaluate if need be Martin

I've suddently had six failed PayPal Website Payments Pro transaction within the past half hour,
I've attempted a test transaction myself and you get the follwing error message after entering the card detials 'An error has occurred processing your payment. Please use an alternate payment method.' RC shows this: 'Error: Click Here' RESULT 106 RESPMSG Host not available Help!! Nick G. |

issue is getting resolved according to paypal...phew
As of Mar 18, 7:20 AM PDT (Mar 18, 2:20 PM GMT) the rollback activities are still in progress. Currently merchants using Paymentech Salem processor and Website Payments Pro Payflow Edition merchants are unable to process payments and will receive result code 106 ("Host not unavailable"). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **Please note the following update to this announcement** As of Mar 18, 6:24 AM PDT (Mar 18, 1:24 PM GMT), we are in the process of rolling back this migration activity. We will provide an update in the next one hour. At this time, merchants can only process Non-Reference Authorization and Sale transactions. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **Please note the following update to this announcement** As of Mar 18, 4:45 AM PDT (Mar 18, 11:45 AM GMT), the migration activities have been paused due to a system issue. I have de-selected the 'Tick this box to make 3dSecure Active:' box in my PayPal Website Payments Pro integration as we suffered far to many transaction failures due to cart abandonment with the 3dSecure turned on, as a result we are unable to accept Maestro cards via this mayment method (but we can cope with this as the 'Checkout with PayPal' method will still accept Maestro cards without 3dSecure) Regretfully the following information on the 'Enter your Payment Card Details' screen gives customers the impression that we can accept Maestro cards Start Date (Maestro only) Issue Number (Maestro only) How can these unnecessary (and confusing fields) be removed when the bank won't accept Maestro without 3d secure enabled? If the fields cannot be removed, could the wording be changed to the following: Start Date (required by some debit cards only) Issue Number (required by some debit cards only) Thanks in advance Nick G. |
